Timing Your Journey to Tanzania

Tanzania’s landscapes transform with the rhythm of the seasons, each offering a unique safari experience. From June to October, the land is dry, the skies are clear, and wildlife gathers around scarce water sources, making for exceptional game viewing. This is also when the Great Migration reaches its peak in the Serengeti, an awe-inspiring spectacle of movement and survival. No matter the time of year, Tanzania’s wild beauty never fails to captivate.

Tanzania Travel Information

Weather and Climate

Tanzania’s climate is a harmonious blend of warmth and variation, shaped by altitude and geography. Along the coast, the air is thick with tropical heat, while the country’s lower-lying western and southern regions remain warm yet less humid. Further inland, the temperatures soften, offering cooler, more temperate conditions—where nights can bring a refreshing chill beneath star-strewn skies.

Visas

You need a Visa to travel to Tanzania. Your dedicated travel concierge will be at hand to guide on the application process.

Vaccinations

Yellow Fever and Malaria: Vaccinations are recommended. Consult your provider well in advance, as some preventative treatments may need to begin before your journey.

Family Friendliness

Tanzania is a family-friendly safari destination. However, due to the sometimes-long travel distances involved, we recommend children six years and above.

Safety

Tanzania is, in our opinion, safe to visit. This is even more so if you book an organized safari. Almost a million tourists visit Tanzania every year, and most visits are trouble-free.
